  1. Signup for Keyword Tracking Software

    Ahrefs has a 7 dollar 7-day trial option; this trial will allow you to perform keyword research. If Ahrefs isn’t your preference, SEMRush and Moz are good alternate choices.

    You will need a keyword research tool to find articles you should be writing about to gain traffic for your website.

  2. Find Low Competition, High Volume Keywords

    Once you have familiarized yourself with the keyword tracking software you’ve selected, it’s time to find relevant keywords in your niche.

    You will want to find low competition keywords with high search volume. An easy way to find these keywords is to do a competitive analysis of the top site in that vertical/niche.

    Using Ahrefs as an example, I searched a competitor’s website’s keywords, focusing on Search Volume above 1,000 and Keyword difficulty under 10. Then I sorted by traffic.

    Long-tail keywords are often a good selection. A long-tail keyword is a phrase that is generally made from three to five words. Since these keywords are more specific than generic terms, they allow you to target niche demographics.

    You will also want to include references, outbound and internal links, schema where possible, and interesting images. You want to ensure the reader stays engaged and not pogo-sticking around the SERPs (jumping from result to result).

    This article must be 10x better than what your competitor would ever write, include video, infographics, and anything a reader might find engaging. Fast results require hard work and dedication to success.

  4. Submit your new article to Search Engines
